I have been providing business software to the food industry for the past 29 years.  Like my readers I have seen a lot of ups and downs in the marketplace.  Today I'd like to make an analogy to describe a recent 'up'.

I am pleased to announce Integrated Management Solutions and Its Food Connex™ Cloud-based Food Management System have been acquired by CAI Software, a leading provider of business management software to the food processing and distribution industry. The purchase was completed January 19. Please refer to the press release for details.

This is the beginning of a story not an end.  For our larger Enterprise customers we will be offering the Enterprise versions of CAI’s major food distribution and processing products.

For small to medium food distributors and processors running QuickBooks, we will continue to enhance, market and support the Food Connex Cloud package. As Jim McCooey, President of CAI software said in the release...

“With over 75 years of combined management experience in the food distribution industry and more than two decades of software development, Integrated Management Solutions is a trusted business partner for its national customers. The acquisition of the proven Food Connex software complements and strengthens our existing suite of business solutions, and broadens our footprint in the protein and seafood distribution vertical by providing a solution for smaller scale businesses.”

“We are excited about this partnership and look forward to working with the talented team at Integrated Management Solutions to bring forth the next generation of Food Connex, and to continue to deliver state-of-the-art solutions that drive innovation, cost reduction and improved efficiency for our customers.”

We can now provide you more freedom of choice, increasing your options and most importantly giving you the opportunity to mitigate your risk.

Let’s take a quick look the choices:

  • Food Connex Cloud for the QuickBooks users.
  • Seasoft for our larger Fish guys.
  • ProVisions for our larger Protein customers.
  • Maintain Food Connex Enterprise for more modules, enhancements, and Cloud integration.

I am very proud of our accomplishments and the ability to take our company to the next level.  Of course our Newsletter will continue for our readers.

One last note I will be attending the Boston Seafood Show March 11-13 in Booth 967.

If you are attending drop by and say hello.
